The accumulation of dirt on the membrane surface is related to the local environmental conditions, the characteristics of the membrane material and the shape of the membrane surface. For most membrane materials, cleaning cannot prolong their service life, and improper cleaning can shorten their service life. In order to facilitate cleaning, it is necessary to consider setting up a passage for cleaning personnel to go up to the roof and a connection piece that facilitates the fixing of safety ropes and safety ropes in the design stage.

When cleaning, it should be ensured that the surface treatment layer of coating  such as PVDF and FEP is not damaged. Do not use scrubbing agents, strong solvents, hard brushes and high-pressure water guns. Compared with household soaps or tableware cleaners, general membrane cleaners are generally relatively safe, but long-term contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes must still be avoided. In addition, cleaning personnel must wear soft-soled shoes when walking on the roof.

The film surface will be very slippery when wet, so safety measures such as safety ropes and anti-drop nets should be used. Considering that damages such as breakage may occur during cleaning of old buildings, safety nets should be placed.

The membrane surface should be inspected and cleaned before the rainy season and winter to keep the membrane surface drainage system unblocked. Areas with heavy snow loads should have necessary emergency measures for snow melting and snow removal. The membrane material will be deformed under heavy load, and there may be water in the place where the membrane surface has a small slope. After rainfall, snowfall and snow melting, the tensile membrane structure should be monitored to avoid accumulation of water. If water is generated, the water or snow must be removed immediately. If the rain and snow continue to, the water will cause the membrane material damage, so to close the film cover space, and immediately take measures to avoid new water.
