The integrated design of the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center places the stadium, gymnasium and swimming pool under a white giant grid-like steel structure roof. The soft-line roof is like an incubator for sports athletes who break the cocoon and rush to the world. The novelty and unique shape are similar to the design method of "Bird's Nest". The unique structure of "One Field and Two Pavilions" makes the construction of "Spring Cocoon" more difficult than that of Bird's Nest.
The steel structure of the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center is a large-span complex space structure. The steel structure roof is composed of a single-layer reticulated shell (stadium, large tree square and other public areas), a double-layer curved grid (sports hall and swimming pool) and a vertical support system Pose.
The single-layer reticulated shell is a complex spatial curved grid structure with a plane length of 532.7m and a width of 240.4m, and a maximum height of 42.3m relative to the landing site (the landing site elevation is + 6.0m). Except for Dashu Square, the entire roof reticulated shell is composed of a box-shaped member (700 mm high and 450 mm wide) directly “woven” into a quadrilateral grid. The average size of the grid is about 4050 mm.
