The Sichuan Jinqiang International Competition Center project is located in Wenjiang District, Chengdu, with a total construction area of 162,200 square meters, including 14,000 large-scale Class A stadiums, 42,000 square meters of supporting commercial facilities and 45,000 square meters of underground parking lots.

The project will build the country’s first one-stop all-around sports complex integrating large-scale stadiums, fitness, expo, and leisure parks. After completion, it will serve as one of the alternate venues for the 2021 World University Summer Games and become a landmark building in Chengdu.

The stadium is designed and constructed in accordance with the top international standards and will become the first NBA-level professional basketball stadium in Sichuan. In the future, it can host large-scale events such as the NBA China Game.

The construction of the steel structure roof lasted 50 days, and the combined sliding of more than 2,200 tons of roof steel structure and electromechanical pipelines was successfully completed, which greatly improved work efficiency.

The traditional roof steel structure construction of the gymnasium uses the high-altitude bulk assembly process of steel components, that is, a full-floor bracket is set up inside the stadium, and the steel components are hoisted into the air one by one for welding, which requires more supporting equipment and high safety risks. At the same time, it will occupy a large construction space, and other processes must be suspended.

This time, the domestic leading steel truss structure pushing and sliding construction technology was adopted, and the steel structure of the roof was divided into ten. A working platform was set up on one side of the roof, and slide rails and hydraulic jacks were installed on both sides. After the workers weld the first steel structure on the working platform, the hydraulic pusher pushes the entire steel structure to move slowly on the slide rail, slides to the designated position for welding and installation, which greatly saves construction space.
