Maintenance points after the space frame put into use

 


After the construction of space frame structure, regular maintenance is required to ensure that the space frame structure can be used within the design life.
Maintenance points are as follows:

1.  It is strictly prohibited to place heavy objects on the roof of the net frame

Because the net frame is designed according to the load required by the design of the net frame, and the specifications of the rods and nodes of the space frame are obtained under the specified design load, it is forbidden to place heavy objects beyond the design requirements during the use of the space frame structure, which will cause irreversible damage.

2. Regular corrosion during use of space frame structure

The general design life of the space frame is 50 years, in the use of the space frame due to excessive load and the probability of damage is very small, most of the damage is caused by corrosion, corrosion results in a large area of reduced cross section of grid members, its mechanical properties and physical properties will be greatly reduced.

The external coating protection of the space frame shall meet the use requirements. Under normal circumstances, maintenance shall be carried out once every 3 years, and the surface dust, rust and other dirt shall be cleaned before painting.

Methods for the maintenance of space frame coating:

A. The surface of the steel structure must be kept clean and dry, and the areas that are easy to accumulate ash should be cleaned regularly;

B. Regularly check the intact condition of the grid frame coating, and timely maintain the following conditions

The area of the coating surface losing luster reaches 90%;

The surface of the coating is rough, weathered and cracked up to 25%

The coating film has raised and the components top coating have slightly rusted up to 40%

C. Avoid contact between components and corrosive substances

The type that coating maintains to use paint, specification should be same with original paint, different paints can be more harmful if they are not compatible, so the space frame structure during using shall be maintain regularly .
